Ginkūnų dvaras (Žeimių g. 7, Ginkūnuose) tapo prieglobsčio namais nuo karo Ukrainoje bėgančioms
moterims ir vaikams. Atvėrėme duris matydami, kokią pragaištingą misiją Ukrainoje vykdo Rusijos
armija.

Pirmųjų pabėgėlių sulaukėme kovo 5 dieną. Per pusę metų dvare gyveno nuo 20 iki 50 pabėgėlių. Su
Ginkūnų bendruomenės, religinių organizacijų ir bažnyčių, sekuliarių institucijų parama pusę metų
galėjome suteikti maitinimo ir apgyvendinimo pagalbą nemokamai. Per tą laiką moterys susirado darbus,
vaikai ėmė lankyti mokyklas, norinčioms buvo suteikta galimybė studijuoti šnekamąją lietuvių kalbą.
Įgijusios daugiau galimybių kai kurios moterys išsinuomojo butus, su vaikais išsikėlė į butus mieste,
kelios pabėgėlių šeimos nusprendė grįžti į savo šalį.

Norėčiau padėkoti Šiaulių rajono Savivaldybės administracijai už skirtą 800 Eurų finansinę paramą
(PROGRAMA: Šiaulių rajono nevyriausybinių organizacijų rėmimas) Ginkūnų dvare apsigyvenusiems
pabėgėliams. Parama buvo skirta skalbyklos paslaugų, cheminių-buitinių prekių apmokėjimui, buitinių
prietaisų bei elektros instaliacijos remonto išlaidoms padengti. Pinigai buvo išleisti per š.m. liepos-
rugsėjo mėn.

Major renovation of the basement area (120 m²) completed. The value of the project was €80 000. €51 307 was provided by the European Agricultural Fund and the Lithuanian state budget. The Lithuanian Christian Foundation, with the help of donors, covered the rest of the renovation costs.
The renovated premises will be used for health, educational and cultural activities.

Ginkūnai Manor (Žeimių g. 7, Ginkūnai) has become a home of refuge for women and children fleeing the war in Ukraine. We opened our doors to see the devastating mission of the Russian army in Ukraine. The first refugees arrived on 5 March. Within half a year, between 20 and 50 refugees were living in the mansion. With the support of the Ginkūnai community, religious organizations and churches, and secular institutions, we were able to provide meals and accommodation free of charge for half a year. During this time, women found jobs, children started attending schools, and those who wanted to study the spoken Lithuanian language were given the opportunity. As they gained more opportunities, some women rented apartments, moved with their children to apartments in the city, and several refugee families decided to return to their home country. I would like to thank the Šiauliai District Municipality Administration for the financial support of 800 EUR (Program: Support of non-governmental organizations in Šiauliai District) for the refugees who have settled in Ginkūnai Manor. The donation was intended to cover the costs of laundry services, chemical and household supplies, household appliances and electrical wiring repairs. Four minibuses leave for Ukraine on 22 April. Cargo: canned meat and fish, canned and dry soups, jam, sugar, pasta, cereals, coffee, tea, water, clothes, hygiene products.

It is gratifying that not only the local community of Ginkūnai, the people of goodwill of Šiauliai city, but also the Ukrainians living in Ginkūnai Manor and in the city themselves are contributing to the humanitarian aid. Most of the women have found employment and are gradually integrating into life in Lithuania.

Three humanitarian aid vans left for Ukraine this morning (04.04). Two vans were loaded from Ginkūnai (Lithuanian Christian Foundation). This is the third trip.

Thank you all for answering the call to contribute. We would like to thank the Šiauliai police officers who prepared the shipments of water, tactical clothing and footwear, the business company (headed by Aivaras Glazauskas) for the donation of new mattresses, and INTERCALIT for the donation of bedding (blankets and pillows). We would also like to thank the volunteers who sorted the items and put them neatly in boxes throughout the week.

At the tournament the Lithuanian and Ukrainian national teams measured their strength. Lithuania was represented by boys and Ukraine by girls. This time the Lithuanian boys were more accurate. Congratulations!

Ukrainian women prepare lunch for the children of the Children’s Day Care Centre at the Manor House. Today the food was served by Ana and Natalija.

On 17 March, three humanitarian aid vans, driven by six youth from Free Christian Churches, were deployed to the Ukraine.

We are grateful to the Maltesers, the Rotary Club, Caritas, the Jewish community of Šiauliai, the residents of Ginkūnai and Šiauliai, and to the Free Christian Church for their volunteerism.

In the near future, we are preparing to send clothes, food, hygiene products, medical supplies, and art materials for children to Ukraine. 4-6 volunteers work every day.
